Need a workout you can look forward to first thing in the morning? Add these to your to-do list. You’ll be thankful you did.

When it comes to morning workouts, most of us groan at the mere thought of this. Get up even earlier? And exercise? If it’s something you’d rather say “pass!” to, you aren’t alone. Most people are in your shoes as well.

But, a morning workout can be a perfect way to energize your body, boost your mood, and kick-start your metabolism. Does it sound a bit more enticing now?

Let’s take a closer look at the best workouts that will help you wake up in the morning and feel your very best.

Yoga

If you’re someone who likes to start their day on a peaceful note and go into work feeling calm, cool and relaxed, yoga is a perfect solution for you.

Set up your yoga mat on your deck if you have a great backyard view and focus on deep breathing and bringing your mind into tune with your body.

You’ll hold various poses, strengthening muscular endurance while also focusing on regulating your air intake. It’s a refreshing way to start the day.

Brisk Walk Outside

Alternatively, there’s nothing quite like a walk at sunrise. Take in the beautiful morning sun before it gets too warm outside and get your heart rate up.

The nice thing about a brisk walk is that it doesn’t require too much energy, so on those tired mornings when you don’t even want to get out of bed, it will be easier to muster up the courage to attempt this workout than if you know you had to do something requiring more from you.

Walking is a perfect healthy and acceptable form of exercise, so lace up those shoes and get it in.

Circuit Training

If you are more focused on building strength and want a real energy boost to begin your day, circuit training is a great option. Doing strength training early on is perfect as it’ll make the rest of the day's activities feel easier since you began your day working with greater resistance.

Plus, strength training tends to elevate the resting metabolic rate more after the workout than walking or yoga will, so if weight loss is a goal for you, this is a perfect solution.

Line up 5-10 different exercises, perform one set of each, doing 10-15 reps per exercise and rest only after the circuit is completed. Repeat this for 2-3 rounds depending on how much time you have and you’ll have completed a fantastic workout.

HIIT

Finally, if you are the highly motivated type and don’t have any issue getting out of bed, a high-intensity interval training session might just be up your alley. Head out to your local park and do some sprint training, sprinting as fast as you can and then resting for a short period after. This will dramatically boost your energy levels and get some feel-good endorphins running through your body.

So there you have a few great options for a morning workout that will change how your day progresses and allow you to feel great you have already done something good for your body.
